The positivity rate of the analysed pools in connection with «TOGETHER WE TEST» has continuously increased in the past weeks and has reached a new high of currently 4.0 %. The test volume is also higher than it has been at any point since the start of the project.
As of calendar week 41, a continued increase in the positivity rate of the analysed pool samples has been recorded across the twelve contractual cantons of TOGETHER WE TEST (see graph). In this current week (Monday to and including Thursday), the positivity rate across the 7,846 participating schools and businesses has reached a new high of 4.0 %.
Against the background of these rapidly increasing numbers, repetitive testing plays a decisive role. This makes it possible to systematically detect infected persons and as a result, break chains of infection. This interruption in the spread of the virus is vital for maintaining classroom teaching in schools and the deployment of employees within companies. In addition, they also contribute to calming the epidemiological situation.
The volume of repetitive tests has also been at a new high since school was resumed after the autumn holidays. In each of the last three weeks, around 30,000 pool tests were evaluated. At the end of this week, the threshold figure of 3.5 million total individual tests carried out since the start of the project in March 2021 will be exceeded. The number of test kits delivered each week has also reached a new high and is currently around 400,000.
