In 2013, the Hirslanden Group and Spital Männedorf AG entered into a long-term cooperation to build and operate a radiotherapy centre for the treatment of cancer patients. Patients in the Lake Zurich, Pfannenstiel and Rapperswil region thus benefit from radiotherapy close to home.
The 13 million Swiss franc Hirslanden Männedorf Radiotherapy Centre was opened at the beginning of 2014. It is run by specialist staff and doctors from Klinik Hirslanden. It complements the existing range of services offered by Spital Männedorf in oncology and surgery. This means that it can offer patients from the right-hand bank of Lake Zurich, the Pfannenstiel region and the Rapperswil area the entire spectrum of modern, interdisciplinary cancer therapy close to home.
The Hirslanden Männedorf Radiotherapy Centre is equipped with a latest-generation TrueBeam linear accelerator. With four linear accelerators, a cyberknife and equipment for brachytherapy and intraoperative radiation, Radiotherapie Hirslanden AG is already one of the largest radiotherapy centres in Switzerland.
