Osler-Weber-Rendu syndrome (hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, HHT) is a rare genetic blood vessel disorder. In this disease, some blood vessels are abnormally dilated and highly vulnerable, resulting in frequent bleeding (in particular nosebleeds).
At Hirslanden Bern, we offer comprehensive consultation and treatment for patients with Osler-Weber-Rendu syndrome. As the illness can affect a wide range of organs, interdisciplinary collaboration is essential. Interdisciplinary collaboration by our medical specialists ensures comprehensive and competent care.
Appointments are coordinated by a dedicated secretariat. The Osler-Weber-Rendu syndrome consultations are offered every Monday and Tuesday.
Consultations via ZOOM are also available for urgent meetings.
As a specialist centre for genetic medicine, Hirslanden Precise is your point of contact for questions about hereditary diseases and genetic predispositions. We would be happy to advise and inform you about the options and benefits of genetic testing.
The patient organisation HHT Swiss is a point of contact for people affected by Osler-Weber-Rendu syndrome and their families and friends.
The Vasc Alliance offers individual support for those affected and coordinates interdisciplinary appointments by a specially dedicated secretariat. You can also find further information on Osler-Weber-Rendu syndrome and self-help advice for those affected.
