History and Milestones of Klinik Permanence

2001 - today

  • 2017
    Opening of the Institute of Radiology in the immediate vicinity of the hospital. The Institute has an MRI and CT scanner as well as conventional X-ray equipment.
    Renovation of the basement: A modern physio room is created. The new floating treadmill will be used from April.

    30th anniversary of Klinik Permanence

  • 2007
    Opening of the Bern Knee Surgery Centre at Klinik Permanence

  • 2003
    Conversion and renovation of Klinik Permanence, commissioning of the two new, state-of-the-art operating theatres, further patient rooms, extension of interdisciplinary consultation hours

  • 2001
    Relocation of the project to the newly acquired Salem-Spital and reorientation of Klinik Permanence

1991 - 2000

  • 2000
    Initiation of the major project “Orthopaedic Centre Bern”

  • 1997
    Integration of Klinik Permanence into the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group and opening of the Surgical Ophthalmology Centre

  • 1992
    Hospital extension to include a third operating theatre, opening of further patient rooms and offices

 

1978 - 1990

  • 1985/86
    Opening of a second operating theatre, further patient rooms, doctors’ practices, an imaging room and an X-ray archive

  • 1980
    Clinic extension: additional patient rooms, on-call rooms, physiotherapy and laundry room

  • 1978
    Opening of Klinik Permanence with 26 beds, an operating theatre and an outpatient clinic as well as a 24-hour emergency ward
