We recommend that you take careful note of the general terms and conditions when taking out additional insurance. Patients often believe that they have additional insurance to cover hospitalisation as a private or semi-private patient, when in fact the additional insurance relates to other categories of care not covered by mandatory health insurance (basic insurance).
In the case of planned procedures, our reservations department systematically checks with insurance companies what cover the patient actually has. However, for emergency admissions outside the insurance companies' working hours, it is not possible to carry out these checks and so, if the cover is not sufficient, the costs will be charged to the patient.
