We are specialised in the field of cardiac arrhythmias and use the so-called ablation as a treatment method. This means that we treat specific areas of the heart that are responsible for the arrhythmias. We can treat atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular or ventricular tachycardia and extrasystoles. For particularly complex arrhythmias, we have developed a new mapping system called Acutus. This allows us to localise and treat the electrical charge throughout the atrium simultaneously. Even if conventional methods such as pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) do not work, the Acutus method can help.
Many years of expertise
Since 2005, we have performed more than 500 ablations every year at Klink Im Park. If blood thinning is not an option for atrial fibrillation, we implant a screen (Watchman or Amulet) in the atrial ear. We have been doing this since 2009 and have also trained other colleagues in this method.
We also have over 20 years of experience in implanting pacemakers (ICD and CRT). We pay particular attention to careful and best possible implantation of the electrodes in the heart to avoid complications and maximise battery life. In biventricular pacing for resynchronisation (CRT), it is particularly important that the lead is optimally placed over the left ventricle.
