NeuroSpineZurich

NeuroSpineZurich is an interdisciplinary group of medical specialists who provide comprehensive examinations and treatment of all spinal diseases in adults and children.

The team of NeuroSpineZürich, which includes the founder and neurosurgeon Prof. Dr. med. Urs D. Schmid and his orthopaedic partner Prof. Dr. med. Sebastian Weckbach, examine and treat problems affecting the entire spinal column, namely the cervical spine, lumbar spine and thoracic spine. Between 600 and 1,000 newly referred patients are examined in an interdisciplinary approach (neurosurgery, orthopaedics, rheumatology) every year. Approx. 60% of them receive further conservative treatment, and around 400 patients undergo spinal surgery every year.

NeuroSpineZurich is located near Hirslanden Klinik Im Park (Zurich Wollishofen) and collaborates closely with the hospital’s specialists and institutes.

Patients can have their surgery at Klinik Im Park and benefit from the high standards of care offered by a private hospital. Depending on their health insurance class, patients can also undergo surgery in the neurosurgical departments of Triemli Hospital or Affoltern Hospital, which are operated by the same affiliated doctors.
