Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women. According to the Swiss Cancer League, almost 6'500 women are diagnosed with breast cancer (mammary carcinoma) every year. Breast cancer treatment can be a long and difficult process for patients. That is why it is particularly important for our patients to receive comprehensive support and guidance from experienced medical specialists.
To provide breast cancer patients with the best possible treatment, numerous oncological specialists work together closely at Klinik Hirslanden’s Breast Cancer Centre. They come from a variety of specialist areas (e.g. gynaecology, surgery, radiology, pathology, oncology, radiotherapy, plastic surgery) and have extensive expertise in the treatment of breast cancer. The specialists advise each other and jointly develop each patient’s personalised therapy plan.
The Breast Cancer Centre hosts regular interdisciplinary tumour boards, so that the specialists can pool their knowledge and expertise. The doctors who meet on these boards discuss each patient’s treatment plan and the anticipated success of the treatment.
