We are delighted that eight Hirslanden hospitals have made it into the top 30 of the «World’s Best Hospitals» in Switzerland by renowned Newsweek! The frontrunner is Klinik Hirslanden Zurich, which is in 4th place for the best hospitals in Switzerland and in 75th place worldwide.

Moratorium on doctors' admissions in Basel is unlawful
The Cantonal Court of Basel-Landschaft has declared the moratorium on doctors’ admissions in Basel, against which Hirslanden Klinik Birshof had taken legal action, as unlawful. The final judgment, which has a signalling effect throughout Switzerland, underscores the importance of constitutional principles in healthcare.

«Best specialist hospitals» accolade
Hirslanden hospitals hold top places in the ranking «Best specialist hospitals in Switzerland 2023», compiled by Handelszeitung and PME Magazine in collaboration with the independent market research institute Statista. Hirslanden is represented in the orthopaedics field with a total of nine hospitals. In cardiology, four hospitals have received a mention, three of which are even in the top 4.

The next generation and their insights on Future Day
On the national Future Day, the next generation familiarises itself with the varied world of work at Hirslanden in a fun and vibrant way: the children plaster their arms, insert implants, prepare delicious sandwiches and try their hand as media experts. 15 hospitals and the Corporate Office offer the 457 participating children an exciting day while contributing towards promoting youth development.

Hirslanden is being recognised by ServiceValue for its very high employer attractiveness. Over 270,000 people in Switzerland assessed companies with regard to their quality as an employer. A further online survey by Le Temps/Handelszeitung shows that Hirslanden is among the best employers in Switzerland. Criteria for the assessment are willingness to recommend, recommendations for other employers, image, growth, working relationship, manager behaviour, and sustainability.

Laying of the foundation stone at the Geneva Outpatient Surgical Centre
The Hirslanden Group is collaborating with the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) to build what is currently Switzerland’s largest outpatient surgical centre. A ceremony is being held for the symbolic laying of the foundation stone. At this event, the partner institutions will be sealing a time capsule into the building’s foundations. It contains, among other things, the plans for the building, the partnership agreement and a scalpel.

Change of management at the Hirslanden hospitals in central Switzerland
Hirslanden announces that Jonas Zollinger, currently Hospital Manager of Hirslanden AndreasKlinik Cham Zug, will be taking over as Hospital Manager of Klinik St. Anna in Lucerne from the middle of February 2023. Yvonne Hubeli, currently Head of Nursing and Member of the Executive Board at Hirslanden Klinik Aarau, becomes the new Hospital Manager in Cham from 1 November 2022.

Certification of the Hirslanden Bern Prostate Cancer Centre
The Bern Prostate Cancer Centre at Hirslanden Salem-Spital has successfully passed the audit by the German Cancer Society (DKG) and is now recognised as a certified cancer centre. The centre in the Bern region, which was founded in 2021, has thus established itself as a competent healthcare partner.

It doesn’t always have to be meat: introduction of «veggie days»
At least two «veggie days» for the climate: this is a small step in the right direction to achieve our goal of becoming climate neutral by 2030. With two vegetarian days per month, we will reduce our meat consumption by 10 000 kg per year, thereby saving 71 000 kg CO2. To simultaneously double this success, we are collaborating with the Green Ethiopia Foundation to plant 14,800 trees each year. In doing so, we are not only reducing our carbon footprint, but also securing the basis of our existence in the long term.

Immunotherapy with CAR T cells to treat multiple myelomas
Cancer patients with multiple myelomas and for whom alternative cancer treatments are ineffective will be treated with CAR T cells at Klinik Hirslanden, one of four hospitals across Switzerland offering this treatment.

The apprentices have shown full commitment, including during the difficult Covid-19 pandemic. Several graduation ceremonies are being held in our hospitals: an important aspect of these celebrations is to acknowledge the commitment by our graduates and promote young talent. Our annual Hirslanden Doctors’ Summit 2022 is taking place
Our biggest in-house doctors’ event is taking place in a hybrid form for the second time. Discussions will be focused on global challenges and healthcare policy, the partnership between Hirslanden and our doctors, the «new normalcy of healthcare» and the idea that limitations are what the head makes of them. Over 400 doctors are taking part in the event on site at the Culture and Convention Centre (KKL) in Lucerne and virtually via the live stream.

Bike to work: challenge accepted!
Exercise, team spirit and fun – that’s what «bike to work» is all about! The aim is to cycle as often as possible, as it is an environmentally friendly, energy-saving and healthy mode of transport. The challenge is an excellent opportunity to promote team spirit and do something that improves your own health. 625 employees in 171 teams are riding a total of 154 022 kilometres. This corresponds to 22 000 kilos of CO2!

Klinik Linde is delighted to have achieved a new record in patient satisfaction: The hospital in Biel attaches a great deal of importance to quality, both strategically and operationally, as one of the hospital’s areas of focus. Hirslanden wins silver in the Best Recruiters’ Award and achieves top place in the Universum Student Ranking
Hirslanden has won second place in the Healthcare category in the Best Recruiters’ Award 2023, moving up five places compared to the previous year. This puts Hirslanden in 13th place in the Swiss overall ranking – an increase of 34 places! The ranking assesses the recruitment quality of over 400 Swiss companies on the basis of scientific criteria. Hirslanden has also moved up two places in the Universum Student Ranking and now lies in 4th place among the top employers in healthcare, immediately behind public university hospitals. The survey was conducted among prospective employees from 78 universities with over 10,000 participants.
