Radiation therapy is an essential treatment for the majority of cancer patients. The radiotherapy institute at Hirslanden Clinique des Grangettes combines a peaceful atmosphere, a professional welcome and constantly updated techniques.
Tools for state-of-the-art treatments
Cancer treatment with radiation therapy involves a variety of professionals: radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, medical radiology technicians, nurses and secretaries. The Clinic's radiation oncology center is equipped with all the tools of modern radiotherapy: a specific 4D CT for simulation, planning systems with state-of-the-art algorithms, image transfer and a state-of-the-art linear accelerator, the RapidArc ®. The latter has IMRT (intensity modulation) and IGRT (image-guided processing) techniques capable of delivering high-precision treatments, as in the case of intra- and extracranial stereotaxy. If the clinical case requires it, respiratory gating (irradiation adapted to the respiratory phase) is also practiced within the institute.
