Interventional radiology is a rapidly developing subspecialty of radiology. It provides diagnosis (via sampling) or guidance of minimally invasive therapeutic interventions. It thus makes it possible to act on an internal lesion without direct visual contact with the treated area.
This medical field represents an alternative or can be complementary to a surgical procedure. The absence of general anesthesia, the evolution of guidance techniques and its relative ease of implementation, make it a first-rate choice for the treatment of patients.
A specific organization of this activity is planned : consultations before and after interventions, time slots or dedicated equipment, collaboration with anaesthetists, joint medical-radio-surgical consultation meetings.
